The 2015 Syrah la Paciencia Vineyard is very impressive, unfurling in the glass with a wonderfully savory bouquet of tapenade, dark chocolate, bresaola, cassis, currant leaf, potpourri and mandarin oil. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and complete, but it’s quite serious and tight-knit despite its structural refinement and will certainly reward patience. Pure and complete, it concludes with a long, sapid finish. Drink 2021-2041.

The 2015 Syrah La Paciencia Vineyard is just slightly darker in color than the Grenache (not by much) and offers more blackberry, peppery meats, ground herbs, and smoke. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, seamless, and with building minerality, it’s another singular wine from this estate that will continue drinking nicely for a decade. Drink 2018-2028.

Refined yet appealingly flamboyant, with vivid raspberry, olive tapenade and bacon fat flavors that build richness toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2028. 315 cases made.

(vinified with 40% whole clusters): Deep red with ruby tones. Initially tight nose hinting at berries and licorice exploded with air to reveal sexy notes of bacon and flowers. Plush, aromatic and easygoing, conveying an attractively juicy quality to its captivating flavors of raspberry, spices and flowers. Finishes with a lovely light touch. Interestingly, this wine is more fruity and less savory than the No Girls Grenache, but I’m not complaining. (13.5% alcohol)

A bit lighter in color, the aromas offer notes of earthy funk, blackberry, wet stone, blood and smoke—not quite seeming fully ready to reveal their charms on first pour. Fruit and savory flavors coat the palate, showing a sense of elegance, energy and freshness.
